Introduction to The Irish Lung Cancer Nurses Group (ILCNG)
The ILCNG are dedicated to the promotion of lung cancer nursing, and to ensure that lung cancer patients receive the highest standards of care. Our group includes nurses involved in the diagnosis, treatment and follow up/survivorship of lung cancer patients.
Through our members and networks we engage in projects to help nurses develop their skills and raise the profile of lung cancer nursing in Ireland.
The purpose of the lung SIG is to establish effective communication links and sharing of knowledge between cancer nurses.
The ILCNG aims to provide all nurses who have an interest or specialise in lung cancer nursing with evidenced based knowledge of best practice, and to ensure that all patients affected by cancer benefit from the care of highly educated, well informed and competent cancer nurses.
Cancer nursing is challenging, membership of ILCNG offers nurses opportunities to update and expand their cancer care knowledge, along with professional and personal benefits of being an active member of this vibrant association.
